The staff at the Faroese Meteorological Office (FMO, Veðurstova Føroya) are pleased to welcome you to the 34th Nordic Meteorology Meeting 2026 in Tórshavn, for the first time in Faroe Islands.
The meeting will be open to all, and we hope to see a mix of duty weather forecasters, scientists, or researchers in climate and meteorology, in short, everyone interested in “weather, climate, observations, modelling and forecasting". There will also be sessions focusing on the "state of sea" and "Meteorology in search and rescue (SAR) operations”, as FMO is part of the organization Vørn, which is also responsible for the Faroese fishery inspection and marine rescue service.
We would like to encourage you to participate in the meeting, and we welcome presentations either as a talk or as a poster to facilitate discussions on the topics.
All information on venue, accommodation, and travel with special conference rates, abstract submission, as well as registration is now available here: https://www.greengate.fo/events/nordic-meteorological-meeting.
