Nordic Meteorological Meeting 2026, Tórshavn, Faroe Islands.

The staff at the Faroese Meteorological Office (FMO, Veðurstova Føroya)  are honored to welcome you to Tótshavn for the 34th Nordic Meteorology Meeting 2026 - the first time this event has been hosted in the Faroe Islands.

Our attendees represent a diverse community of operational forecasters, climate scientists, and meteorology researchers. This year’s program features 60 abstracts covering a wide range of critical themes:

  • Weather, climate, and observations

  • Modeling and forecasting

  • Sea state and marine conditions

  • Aviation weather services
  • Impact-based forecasting

  • Meteorology in Search and Rescue (SAR) operations

Young Scientist Conference Award

The European Meteorological Society sponsors a Young Scientist Conference Award (YSCA) to support participation in NMM2026. 

  • The award:  €750 toward travel expenditures. 
  • Announcement:  The winner will be revealed during the conference dinner.
