If you want to access the resent or past measurements from Faroese Meteorological Office through our API, then this can be done in a few different ways
The station names in the API are:
- Havn: for the location in Thórshavn (on the island of Streymoy)
- Eidi: for the location in Eiði (on the island of Eysturoy)
- Mykines: for the location on the island/islet of Mykines
- Sudur: for the location on Akraberg (on the island of Suðuroy)
- Fugloy: for the location in Kirkja (on the island of Fugloy)
The date and time format is:
- Date: YYYY-MM-DD (Year-Month-Date), example 2026-06-30
- Time: HH:mmz (Hour:Minute and z for Zulu/GMT/UTC-time), example 23:00z
- Combined timestamp 2026-06-30T23:00z
This database stretches from 2017/2018 (depending on the measurement station) to present time.

Say I’m interested in the measurement at Tórshavn at the 23:00 UTC on the 30/6-2026, then all measurements from this site at this time are available on the URL:

NB: note that measurements are sometimes delayed relative to real-time, so only retrieving the present values (recursive asking for data at "now o’clock") can lead to some holes in the time-series. Also note that if data for the specific timestamp are missing in the database, data shifted up to +/- 5-minutes can be reported back. If this happens this can be seen by the timestamp within the data file itself.
Timeseries of specific parameter
Say I’m interested in all data of the given parameter PRSUM10M (meaning precipitation sum over the latest 10 minutes) in Tórshavn for the period 1/1-2025 to 1/2-2025, then all data will be available through the URL:
